The DPS-520 provides power supply redundancy and resiliency for Power over Ethernet (PoE). It ensures continuous device activity and offers protection against device power supply failures by providing seamless failover for D-Link switches such as the DGS-1520 series.

In the event of a power supply failure, the redundant power supply unit is immediately triggered, allowing the LAN switch and its connected devices to remain operational.
